About Us

Korson's Tree Farms is a second-generation evergreen farm.

Wayne Korson, a graduate of Central Michigan University, established the farm in 1973.  Wayne served on the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Board of Directors for ten years, serving as President for two years. Wayne was the National Director representing Michigan to the National Christmas Tree Association for six years. He was inducted into the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Hall of Fame in 2010 for his years of commitment and service to the industry.

In 2003, Rex Korson bought the business from his father, Wayne.  Rex is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Marketing.  Rex served on the Michigan Christmas Tree Association Board of Directors for nine years, three of which he was President.  Rex has served on many advisories committees throughout the industry.

Korson's Tree Farms won the Michigan Christmas Tree Association's coveted Grand Champion tree in 2007.  Korson's took first place in the spruce category at the 2009 National Christmas Tree Association Tree Competition. Korson's won Reserve Grand Champion in 2010 and presented the tree to the Michigan governor in 2012. Korson's won Grand Champion again in 2013 and presented the Governor's Tree in December.

In 2015, Korson's competed in the National Christmas Tree Association contest. We secured a Reserve Grand Champion win! This win gave us the opportunity to present seven Christmas trees to Vice President Joe Biden's residence. We attended a reception in December, 2015 for the acknowledgement of this award.

The philosophy of Korson's Tree Farms is to provide an excellent, high-quality product at an outstanding value.
